Calgary
Eric and I toured the west of Canada in august/september
of 2001. Our trip started in Calgary.
We spent only a day and a half in Calgary, and we were a
little dazed from jet-lag. However, my impression
was that it's a friendly, appealing city.
The view
from the Calgary Tower is impressive, definitely worth
it. Another good option is the Glenbow museum. It's
beautiful, with
lots of interesting items from Samurai helmets to Ivory
Coast statues. There's not too much on
"history of Canada" stuff, though; if that's what you're
interested in (as a non-Canadian tourist, perhaps) I
suggest the museum in Victoria, on Vancouver Island.
